Who to Notify

It is a wise precaution to inform your electricity supplier that you use an oxygen concentrator so that should the power supply be interrupted they are aware of your specialeeds.

It is important to notify your Insurers that you have oxygen in your home. This should not affect your insurance premium but will ensure you are fully covered if you need to make a claim.

Data Protection

You will appreciate that in order to provide the Vitalair oxygen servce; we need to hold important personal data about your oxygen needs.

This information will be held securely within our database only for as long as we need it. We will only disclose this information to those health care professionals who are involved in your care or in the administration of your care.

You have a right under the Data Protection Act (DPA) to see the personal data that we hold and process. Should you wish to do so then please contact the Support Services & Programme Manager, BOC Gases, Priestley Road, Worsley, Manchester M28 2UT

Moving Home/Changing Telephone Number

Please remember to advise us if you are planning to change your address or telephone number. This is critical to ensure that we maintain regular oxygen supplies and service requirements.

The Breathe Easy Club

Working for Breathless People
The British Lung Foundation's Breathe Easy Club is a unique self-help advice and support network for people with all lung conditions, carers and families.

Many people with lung conditions feel alone. The Club helps them through its quarterly Breathe Easy magazine with practical tips on coping with lung problems. Their 100+ groups throughout the UK let members share experience and build friendships.

BLISS

BLISS offers information and support to families of babies needing specialist care at birth, as well as providing nurse training, donating lifesaving equipment to neonatal units and funding research into the development of special care babies.

BLISS runs a freephone support line for those affected by the birth of a special care baby. They offer free information leaflets and advice to families about having a baby in special care and onwards, as well as details of local and national support networks that families can be put in contact with for further support.
